Academy of Our Lady

Academy of Our Lady Faculty

My name is Douglas Klatt and I will be teaching Spanish to Pre-K through 8th grades at Academy of Our Lady. I bring many years of teaching and studying Spanish, as well as a great passion for the language. After graduating from Loyola University in Chicago in 1992, I went to Salamanca, Spain to teach English. It was there that I developed my love of the Spanish language. I was then accepted at a Master’s degree program at Iberoamerican University in Mexico City. I lived there for 2 years and grew to love the Mexican people and their culture.

Once I returned to the United States, I taught Spanish and history at a small private school, Northridge Prep School, in Niles, Illinois. For the past 7 years, I have been teaching various levels of Spanish at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL.

It is with great pleasure that I begin a career at Academy of Our Lady, where I have been impressed with the eagerness of the students to learn. I look forward to a great year and to getting to know my students, as we embark on our adventure of studying the Spanish language.
