Sue Gemignani
Hello! I wear two hats here at Academy of Our Lady. I am the Art teacher and I am the Resource teacher. My personal philosophy is that all children have special gifts, talents and strengths to develop. Within a classroom atmosphere of Christian love, I try to teach my students to think creatively, problem solve, accept mistakes as inevitable with a spirit of perseverance, and to always put their best effort into everything they do.
I have a Psychology degree from Loyola University and a Masters in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University. I was the Art teacher at St. Anastasia Catholic School before joining the AOL family.
My husband and I live in Waukegan and we are the proud parents of five young-adult children and one beautiful grandson. All of our children attended Catholic school, so I really understand and appreciate the sacrifices parents make to send their children to our school. Reading, writing, swimming and gardening are some of the things I enjoy in my free time.
I would love to meet you-pop into the Art Room (#7-main hall) anytime!
